Privacy Policy

Who we are

WhosPet is operated by CODESEQ LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13893168), registered office 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, used to sign you in via a magic link.
• Orders: the shipping name and address you provide when ordering a tag, and payment details, which are handled directly by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
• Pet profiles: whatever you choose to add — a name, breed, a photo URL, and a message shown to whoever finds your pet.
• Scan notifications: if someone scans your pet's tag and chooses to notify you, we record their message and, if they chose to share it, their location at that moment.
• Emergency contact info: a phone number, email, WhatsApp number, and/or address you can optionally add to your pet's profile. This is never shown to anyone unless you explicitly mark the pet as lost — see below.

What we don't do

We never show your account email, phone number, or address to anyone who scans your pet's tag, and we never show a finder's details to you unless they choose to include them in a message. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

One explicit exception: if you choose to mark a pet as lost, whichever emergency contact details you've filled in (you choose which — leave any blank to keep it private) are shown directly to anyone who scans that tag, until you mark the pet found again. This only happens because you actively opted in at that moment — it's never on by default.

How we use it

To operate the service: sending sign-in links, fulfilling and shipping orders, relaying scan notifications by email, and providing customer support when you contact us.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors to run the service, each only for what they need to do their job:

• Neon — hosts our database, in London.
• Resend — sends sign-in and notification emails on our behalf.
• Stripe — processes payment for orders.
• Vercel — hosts the website and application.

Cookies

We only set the strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and pet profile data for as long as your account is active. Scan notification records are kept to support the throttling that protects you from repeated emails, and for order/dispute history.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing hello@whospet.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
